Over the course of four days Joey Molland performed seven shows in Japan February 1991.
Fortunately for us there was a 'guy in the crowd' with an audio recorder there to capture
some of these shows for us.

First up, it is a shame that these shows were not properly recorded. While  an entire
show on its own would not work as a good live album (except for the most dedicated of
fans), an edited highlights album would have worked a treat, and got some modern Badfinger
related product on the market.  

What we have here is a slightly muffled and tinny audience recording from one (or more)
of these shows. Dates and locations are listed, but what is not known is where each of
these songs come from during that tour. 

The set list includes a number of Badfinger non-Joey standards ("Baby Blue", "Come and Get
It", "Midnight Sun", "Day After Day", "Without You"), as well as select picks Joey's
Badfinger and solo catalogue. Each show varies only in the order that the songs are
performed. 

As a live show I would gladly have paid money to attend. As a live CD release, the poor
quality of the recording, the concert structure (Why would you begin a concert with "I Don't
Mind" or "What Happened"???) and some of the song selections make these two discs a
difficult listening experience at times, especially when the lead vocals do not come through
clearly ("No Matter What").

Negatives aside, Joey's band does work well as a good live garage act, and this at least
does translate well to disc most of the time. The crowd to warm to the rockier numbers,
and these are the songs that Joey's band seem to enjoy the most, especially when they are
Joey's songs ("Andy Norris" probably being the highlight of this release).

For fans looking to gather every recorded second of every version of the band, then you
will need to track this release down as these shows (in their edited form) do not appear
on any other release. For most of us though this two disc set is a mere footnote in the
recorded history of this band. This isn't the best Badfinger bootleg release ever, but nor
is it the worst. Enjoy it for what it is, not what it isn't.
