Swansea Library Service is pleased to hold this 2-week exhibition as a tribute to the late singer and song-writer Peter Ham, a native of Swansea.
The proposal for the exhibition came from Keith James, now of Cwmbwrla, Swansea, a fan of Badfinger for many years and editor of a fanzine in the 1980's. The idea was quickly taken up by the Service and, in an effort to supplement and complement the Library's existing relevant material, many of Peter's friends and associates were contacted. The response was immediate and very positive, demonstrated by their willingness to lend photographs, write reminiscences and generally help in any way. The Library Service is very grateful to all those who have taken part.
This booklet starts with an article by Keith briefly outlining the story of The Iveys and Badfinger. A number of tributes and personal reminiscences from close friends and associates follow.
Details of the lives of the members of Badfinger, including Peter Ham, have been thoroughly documented in Dan Matovina's book, "Without You, the Tragic Story of Badfinger." This popular book sold out very quickly but a limited number of copies are still available for loan via Swansea Libraries. A new, revised edition of this book is due to be launched in August 2000.
